‘Citizenship’.

I am in a dilemma. Tomorrow, I am required to teach a class on 'Citizenship' as part of my teaching assessment. I am required to teach the class who are all foreign immigrants, what it means to be an English Citizen and I feel rather angry and sick about it. Because, all my life I have stood up for my free rights, deliberately distanced myself from controlling ellements, and tried to talk down the anti-values of Nationalism. However, tomorrow, I am required to do the entire opposite of my beliefs for the sake of some pointless certificate which says that I can enjoy a more comfortable future than the rest of poor society.
My source page rather ambiguously quotes:
"The aim of the Citizenship materials for learners pack is to help the teacher develop the learners' knowledge of life in the UK, help them become more active citizens and to support applications for citizenship and settlement."
This report and advisory pack was based upon ideas by Sir Bernard Crick. He recieved a knighthood for producing a questionnaire about "Life in the United Kingdom". I personally would have given something more beneficial to him, like drowning. In fact, I think I may sharpie a hitler moustache on my upper lip just after introducing myself to the class as Dr Eichmann, and informing them that I am here to orchestrate their eventual annihilation.
This is just another one of those stumbling blocks that bored politicians create as a means of conning themselves & the public into believing that they are very busy people, who do meaningful work for the general good. Maybe I will produce a questionnaire for politicians on "Life as a Politician in the United Kingdom".
I joke of course. But, I am for sure going to ask them to tell me what they think 'Freedom' is, and attempt to teach them about this matter for as long as I can until my assessor runs out of red ink. As a requirement for my assessment, I have to cover the 4 basic skills of language: Speaking, Reading, Writing & Listening. My lesson will include Short paragraphs by Mark Twain & Rousseau, audio excerpts of Martin Luther King speeches, then we will go outside the building and engage in Situationist Slogan graffitti 'writing' exercises. We will finish the lesson with a passionate rendition of "God Save The Queen"....... By the Sex Pistols.
Followed by Jazz hands, with my cock out, in the direction of my assessor.
