Radiohead in Rainbows.
So, I can download the Radiohead album for as much as I'd like to pay. And, all I can think about is: ‘Is Prostitution Wrong?’ The act of charging a set fee for a service is a process which occurs in all aspects of life. Is is immoral to charge for music? Is it immoral to charge for sex? Would a Prostitute vary their fee? Would the prostitute allow the client to decide the fee? If the prostitute didn’t charge a fee, do they become downgraded to ‘Slut’? Is the difference between Prostitute & Slut purely down to Semantics, or simply whether or not you say it is? What is truth, is it to be based upon Aristotelian values of fidelity, honesty, sincerity? Minimalist perspectives? or Pragmatic approaches? And so forth.
Not all of us engage in the act of selling. I am aware of ‘Sacred Prostitutes’ in Holland who engage in the act for no charge to the severely disabled, for example. You do anything for money, you are a prostitute? You give it away, you are a Slut. Radiohead, Does this mean you are Sluts? Sluttica. you may want to think about that definition.
“Why Not?” often receives a smack in the chops from me. A quality debate is often preferred.
