Pruitt-Igoe

Le corbusier once said, that New York is the "Tragic Hedgehog". A cluttered mess, where the shit at the bottom feeds the flowers at the top.
This of course comes from a man who created project dreams which, became utopian nightmares. From Pruitt-Igoe in St Louis, to Brasilia, and probably Dubai. The utopian experiment gone tragically wrong. Idealism, futurism, stucco & glass. Presented with children playing in peace, and where every single person can drive a car. Only, it's clear that any construction nightmare can potentially be sold as an attractive utopia in this manner, with a few bells and whistles attached. The difference between ideal fantasy, and reality.
Can builders of cities learn from these mistakes, when beauraucrats are forced together again to make knee-jerk reactions, and ultimately attempt develop and rebuild the future, in some blind architects' computer generated world?
It is said, "Nothing dates faster than other people's fantasies about the future."
